Welcome to the travel site of the guy that doesn't get to travel..... Go figure.
Well, I guess that's what the name means..... The Vagabond that doesn't get to travel.....
Vagabond Blues
I guess I should suck it up. I've got a wonderful life, a wonderful wife and Sophie the Wonder Dog. The photo below is of me and the girls at the river a couple years ago.
As for what I do now, I take photographs, I work and I think about the day I may be able to take off and travel, where I want, when I want, taking photos all along the way.
Photography has been the main stay of my life as of late. I take photographs almost every day and every weekend for sure. It's mostly around the Richmond Virginia area but has everything to do with the people and their lives that live and work where I am that day... Not much different than travelling to a spot and photographing the people there.

I guess it's about time to come clean with what happened. It's been a long/short week at work hobbling around on a bum leg. So most of last week I was beat at night so I didn't do anything here. So here we go.
Here's my leg one week later....
You can read the whole story of the Crooked Road once I put it down in it's own link but for right now I'll say that I was trying to camp in Jefferson National Forrest near Caldwell Fields. I took Suzi down a narrow trail and basically dumped her in a rut. I had no where to plant my left foot as it was over a gully, once my foot touched I tried to shove her backup and something popped.

I was hopeing to share some of this wonderful trip I took to Southwest Virginia on the Blues site while I was out on the road. Things just never seem to work out the way I think....
Lets just say under that swolen calf is a bag of ice, and the beer.... That's for the pain.
The story was suppose to be about the Crooked Road, Virginia's Music Trail. I will cover some of that later when I get the time to go through the photos. I'll post them in the Crooked Road Page...

It's back to work....

Well, Last week was back at it. And there's no catching a break. Work is as busy as ever and I'm always on the go. Some times I don't think I'll ever keep up. I don't get a proper lunch most days but I had to pause to take this shot..... Makes ya kind of relax.
It's my birthday and I'll ride if I want to....
Hey, As the heading says, Yesterday was my 45th birthday and I got to go for a nice ride to the mountains. I've come to the conclusion though that while I'll never stop doing it, the day rides are a bit like sex without an orgasm. The whole premise of what I’m trying to do her is adventuring, traveling, seeing and doing new things. I’ve traveled the roads between Richmond and the Blue Ridge so much, the locals wave and call me by my first name….

Well, things didn't work out the way I though it would for posting up on the web page and for vacation. Either way we ahd fun and I will continue to add to this page when and as I can. I think the best thing on vacation was getting to see David paly with his band Sauce.
They are hot and smooth, fun to watch and even better to listen to. I'll add more of them in the photo section or go to my links and go the my smug mug site and the rest are there.
I've been too busy to really add to this site but I did add a bunch of photos from Rhode Island to the photo page.
Tennessee was great but..... We're in Rhode Island!

We got to Rhode Island late yesterday after a not so bad ride from Richmond. I haven't added much here due to lack of time but I will endevor.

Well, here we are right on the cusp, the razors edge.... Right now it could go either way..... Ah, Bullshit, All I've got to do is survive half a day tomorrow and I'll be free for the next week. I've been packing tonight just for the simple trip to Tennessee. This is going to be interesting because if you know me of late, I've got to bring more electronics and photo equipment than most National Geographic Photo-Journalists do for a six month African Safari.... Ah hell. I'm haing fun.
I figure I'll see what I forget for this leg of the trip and correct it Sunday when we're back here right before we head out to Rhode Island.... Vacation, we don't need no stinkin vacation.... We're just into the pain of it all.
